Toerance?

justice is NO VIRTUE."
Wednesday, June 10, 2009
TRACKING THE PARADOX OF TOLERANCE

Just in case some of my friends and foes alike can't figure this out for themselves, here's one of the 20th century's most persuasive philosophers writing against the tide of totalitarian ideologies. In support of capitalism and the freedom to fail or succeed while empowering the individual in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, Karl Popper is plainly spoken in his rejection of Plato and his anti-individualist descendents:

UNLIMITED TOLERANCE MUST LEAD to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them. In this formulation, I do not imply, for instance, that we should always suppress the utterance of intolerant philosophies; as long as we counter them by rational argument and keep them in check by public opinion, suppression would certainly be most unwise. But we should claim the right to suppress them if necessary even by force; for it may easily turn out that they are not prepared to meet us on the level of rational argument, but begin by denouncing all argument; they may forbid their followers to listen to rational argument, because it is deceptive, and teach them to answer arguments by the use of their fists or pistols. We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant. We should claim that any movement preaching intolerance places itself outside the law, and we should consider incitement to intolerance and persecution as criminal, in the same way we should consider incitement to murder, or to kidnapping, or to the revival of the slave trade, as criminal.

—Karl Popper, The Open Society and Its Enemies

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://aukmuntr.blogspot.com/2009/06/intolerance-toerance.html' title='Intolerance? The man acts guilty.

Michael wrote:

No Weapons for Anyone Next will be medals, awards and campaign ribbons. They have sharp edges.

From today's you couldn't make it up if you tried file.......Obama's protectors have ordered graduating Midshipmen....and I suppose Commissioned Officers through Flag rank...to leave their swords at home. Full Dress White includes "wear sword". More to the point...those badges of office have been earned in a manner Obongo and his minions just wouldn't begin to understand. Important traditions that inspire are kind of lost on the red banner crowd, apparently.

Further, ceremonial swords never seemed to bother the Secret Service for any previous President. And before World War II, the swords were not particularly "ceremonial", I've seen some of those blades, boarding actions did occur on the China Station pre-war against river pirates, warlords, etc. Those swords were worn not just to graduation, but to Inaugurations, in the receiving line at the White House afterward, to the Inaugural Ball. Somehow nobody gave it a second thought. Somehow even Presidents in the past didn't presume to specify items of uniform.
But of course, what worked for Harry Truman, Ronald Reagan, F.D.R., the Bushes, T.R., any other rational non-cult leader.....doesn't work for this former state senator anointed by the Chicago machine.

Does he secretly consider our Naval and Military leaders "the enemy"? Perhaps the message this sends escaped his handlers. Sad. And .....follow me on this Obama and minions.....insulting. Actually it's contemptible.

Over at the Washington Times:

Graduating midshipmen of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis are being told in writing to leave at home or in their vehicles all "ceremonial swords" and anything else "that might be considered a weapon or a threat by screeners" for Friday's outdoor commencement ceremonies featuring an address by President Barack Obama. Each had his or her own slant on what the current administration was doing, right or wrong. Suffice it to say, not a very large group of George W. Bush admirers were they, and rightly so! But what have we done about those ills and wills?

We elected Barack Obama to the Oval Office to make change. Well, the change has been made. When we liken the previous administration to riding in a car a bit too fast going down the national debt highway, were we wrong? No, we were correct. Now Obama is on that highway, in a ferrari! Well, a friend sent me the video below of a former KGB ideological subversion expert, Yuri Bezmenov who speaks to this question.

As many have indicated for quite some time, we Americans have already lost the first, and maybe even the second battle for the fall of the USA itself. When shown proof of what is happening under our very own noses, the masses simply do not believe what is happening and fall back upon their brainwashed ways. This is very true when it comes to Islamic extremists infiltrating our schools, government, neighborhoods, and more. It is also true of the "gradual boiling of the frog" toward socialism, totalitarianism, loss of liberties, and possibly in an irreversible fashion if we do not act now.

It has always been thought in the former Soviet Union, that the only way to take down America is from within. They had always known that with the correct impetus, we would shoot our selves metaphorically. Being the intelligent, patient, and conniving people they are, Islamic extremists have studied the USA, the USSR, and the west in general very carefully. If we superimpose Mr. Bezmenov's words into this context, it is plain to see that al Qaeda and others are using these very tactics as are the Marxist/Leninist among us.

Ask yourself one question before you watch this video: Am I demoralized?

Aghan Graveyard

By Ralph Peters
May 14, 2009 --THE conflict in Afghanistan was a special-operations war in 2001, and it's a special-operations war in 2009. Everything in between was deadly make-believe.

The latest casualty of our incoherent effort is Gen. David McKiernan. On Monday, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates removed him from command of our Afghan operations after McKiernan objected to being sidelined.

If Congress approves, Gates will replace McKiernan with Lt. Gen. Stan McChrystal, a career-long special operator and a brilliant killer. McChrystal's special-ops fighters, such as the Army's Special Forces, Rangers and "black" elements, or the Navy's SEALs, do the violent, secret work that others fear or shun. Consistently, they've inflicted the key enemy casualties in our now-nameless struggle with terrorists.

Full story.

Swine Flu Man Made?

There's something downright suspicious about the swine flu.

At least, that's what scientists across the globe are beginning to think.

The sudden outbreak ... the targeting of normally healthy 20 to 45 year olds ... and the unsettling way it jumps from human to human are all raising questions. But the examination of the swine flu virus itself sent suspicions through the roof for some scientists.

They discovered that the swine flu contains elements of bird flu ... two forms of human flu ... and various forms of swine flu. Not only that, but the strain has gene segments from three different continents: Europe, Asia and North America. For many scientists, this unusual combination of flu strains from around the world can only mean one thing - the swine flu is the product of gene splicing.

In other words ... it just may be man made.

Indonesian Health Minister Siti Fadilah Supari agrees with the possibility. In fact, she even went so far as to announce at a recent press conference that the swine flu could very well be genetically engineered. She suspects Western governments of making and spreading viruses in the developing world to boost pharmaceutical companies' profits.

Now, I want to make one thing clear .... Other than the suspicions scientists have over the nature of the virus - there is currently no concrete proof that the swine flu was created in a laboratory.

However, I personally find it interesting that no one knows how the flu got started. As far as I know, the original infected pig that got the ball rolling has not been identified. In fact, it looks like the only pigs affected caught the virus from a human swine worker in Alberta, Canada.

First Impressions?

International Impressions – What do they think of us now?
It’s a curious thing; impressions. When you meet someone for the first time, an instant impression is made, and often, it is lasting, as the old saying goes. Here in America, we have many different regional aspects and each has its own characteristics and therefore, different ways of looking at things, especially perceptions, but by and large, we seem to do so in a fashion that is our own, unlike other regions of the planet.

Unlike the rest of the world, the USA has a pretty homogeneous way of thinking, and therefore we tend to read people pretty much the same way when we first meet. Often, this means one is measured first by their appearance, second by body language, vocal intonation, cleanliness, style, and so on. However, in other parts of the world, first impressions are read much differently. Did you bow, did you extend the correct hand, did you make an unwanted gesture, and did you carry yourself in a manner of respect? These are much more important elsewhere than here in the west.

Recently, our new President traveled the globe greeting friends and foes alike. Speaking before large audiences and small, he gave an impression, one not soon to change. But what impression did he leave? We all know that George W. Bush was seen as gruff cowboy, but what do they think of Mr. Obama? Well, from my experience and understanding of peoples other than westerners, I can tell you that first impression does not bode well for the USA. In other regions, all that is respected is brute power, anything less is considered weakness, whether we in the west like it or now! I am therefore more fearful today about the safety of our way of life than I was on January 19th. Why, because certain peoples in certain lands would instantly read that Mr. Obama is weak, naïve, gullible, indecisive, and slow to react.

To our radical Islamic enemies, this is an invitation to ratchet up any plans they may already have. I am certain they do have plans, since all they do, all of the time, is to think of ways to kill the Great Satan and her smaller evil sister; Israel. In less than 100 days, Hugo Chavez has manipulated our President to a multitude of ends to bolster his own world standing and strengthened his hold on his own people. Obama has allowed Daniel Ortega to castigate us as a people without a word in defense; rather, he capitulated, thereby allowing Ortega to reap the same benefits as Chavez. In Saudi Arabi, whether it was a real bow or not, I can guarantee you one thing; the Wahabi were laughing gleefully.

Traveling the world as a superstar rather than as President of the most powerful nation the world has ever known, only serves to prove our weakness now. There is an existential threat underway, and we have now given them an impression that we are weaker than ever. This is not Chicago Mr. Obama, and these people play by different rules. Appeasement in the mind of a man from these lands only means weakness.

In Pakistan, I fear that this first impression of Mr. Obama is one we may need to fear the most. He speaks loudly of sending more troops to Afghanistan, but the Taliban will not perceive that as anything more than a hindrance because they are getting so very much stronger in Pakistan. The Taliban, by definition, is a group of archaic thinkers who wish only to force sharia law on us all. Calling for talks with “moderate” Taliban is a true oxymoron and shows a complete misunderstanding of our enemies. When Pakistan falls, nukes will be in the hands of truly evil people. Talking will do no good now, or ever with such people; all they understand is force.

In Iran, I am certain the Ayatollahs are weighing Mr. Obama’s mettle just as the others I mentioned. Knowing the Iranian mindset, that does not bode well for us either. One must understand the way others think before leaping toward them with an open hand, conciliatory talk, and non-stop bashing of our previous administration. Where I grew up, I could bash my brother at home, but if I did so away from home, that was lower than any insult you could wage. It also told others, if that kid did not defend his brother, he was weak and needed a good old fashion can of “whoop ass”. I fear now, that that proverbial “can of whoop-ass” is coming soon to a neighborhood near you.

Your Children's Future!

Barney Frank Challenged by Harvard Student

Massachusetts, the liberal bastion of the east, home of Barney Frank, late of the Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac scandals, is proud to have such an eloquent voice protecting we in the middle class. Its embarrassing, truly embarrassing to be represented by such people who get re-elected over, and over, and over in this state. Its always someone else at fault with this man. He turns everything into a confusing battle of semantics, and puts words in other people's mouths.

What is more painful is here in Massachusetts, we have no choice. This state is ruled by one party and the machine is so strong it may never change. I feel so well "represented", what a joke. Abu Ghraib was touted as an abomination performed by US troops. Guantanamo Bay is regarded by too many as a torture chamber.

However, after you view this video, consider that these Hezbollah Arabs beating up Saudi Arabs. I say beat up, because the true nature of torture actually goes far beyond the pummeling these fellows received. There are not batteries with cables to their testicles, there are no dental instruments applied to their teeth or finger nails, there are no torches applied to their bodies, so ask yourself again: What really is torture, and how could anyone possibly apply that term to what our military does?

The former with the annual Academy Awards, the latter with President Obama’s “State Of Myself” speech to Congress. It’s in the spirit of both of these events that I would like to present you, dear reader, my list of political Oscar winners for the week:

Best Actor In An Ongoing Dramedy -- President Barack Obama: The same person who rammed the trillion dollar Porkulus Magnus down our throats announced during his Congressional address that he wants to now perform a surgical line-item veto on the budget. And education will be free for everyone through college -- because at least for now, the Chinese are keeping the American economy afloat through the purchase of treasury bonds, in between political dissident lashings and sips of dead tiger wine. He’s also going to fix health care – apparently without ever explaining to Americans what the very simple, real issue is: the costs of lobbying driving up insurance premiums so they can wine and dine politicians and buy them off on the company’s tab. Why didn’t Obama call on politicians to turn down health care related buyoffs? Further, he claims that he wants to somehow grow industry, while simultaneously taxing every burp of gaseous byproduct.

Best Makeup -- Nancy Pelosi: Was she ambushed, before last night’s Obama speech, by the makeup team that made Brad Pitt look like a kid in “The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button”?
Best Cryptic Reference -- AR Rahman: Rahman won two Oscars for his music in Slumdog Millionaire. In his first acceptance speech, he referred to himself, out of nowhere, as a Tamil. In the second, he explained that he had a choice in life between love over hate -- and chose love. Not sure if he meant that he chose to hug rather than slug someone in a bar -- or whether he was perhaps referring to Tamil tiger terrorists who have arguably wreaked more destruction than any terrorist group in the name of Tamil nationalism. If so, I’d say Rahman made a wise choice, considering the Tamil Tigers are getting their behinds handed to them by the Sri Lankan government right now.

Lifetime Achievement Award -- Sean Penn: No, this award really doesn’t go to Penn, but apparently he accepted it on behalf of the long vilified, late Senator Joe McCarthy when he thanked Hollywood for being rife with “commie, homo-loving sons of guns” during his acceptance speech for the movie, Milk.

Best Actor In A Sequel -- Al Sharpton: Some of us thought that Barack Obama’s election would be the end of Sharpton. But a New York Post cartoon changed all that, giving him an excuse for another public fundraising campaign. The culprit? A cartoon showing police officers shooting the Tri-State area chimp that ripped a woman’s face off. The cartoon commented that now someone else will have to write the stimulus bill. The rational mind unencumbered by racism would interpret this as meaning that Congress (the entity that wrote the stimulus) is full of monkeys. But Sharpton wants us to think that Obama -- the man who didn’t write the stimulus, but rather only SOLD it -- is supposed to be the monkey. Because he’s black. Or at least that’s what I think he wants us to think. I really wish someone -- anyone -- in any of the zillion media interviews that Sharpton has done thus far, would ask him to explain his thinking to those of us who aren’t down with the latest racist jargon. Sharpton is also springboarding the incident into a full-court press on NY Post owner, Rupert Murdoch’s, media ownership rights -- apparently ripping a page from the Islamic extremists’ playbook chapter, Drawings I Don’t Like. Sharpton is the political version of the Saw horror movie series: He goes away for awhile, but trots out the same tired act when it’s time to make money.

Best Actor In An Ongoing Foreign Drama -- George Clooney: The United Nations released a memo this week stating: “After a decade of unprecedented growth, United Nations peacekeeping had essentially become a ‘victim of its own success’.” Apparently “success” is defined as “quagmire” by the UN. And George Clooney has been involved as a talking-head for Darfur’s quagmire for the past few years. I’m not sure why Clooney was on Larry King this week calling for action by Obama when Bush -- the most generous African aid president in American history - lacked his support for humanitarian intervention in Iraq. Moreover, according to the UN’s Alain Le Roy, Under-Secretary-General, Department of Peacekeeping Operations, “peacekeeping missions could succeed only if they had the support of the major United Nations bodies, including the General Assembly and the Security Council, as well as of the wider Secretariat and relevant host countries and people served by those missions on the ground”. Go ear-bend Sudan’s business partners, China and Russia, George. Then come on back.

Best Comedic Pratfall -- Imran Khan: The former Pakistani cricket player turned politician/bozo-clown, who was once married to Jemima Khan, one of Princess Di’s best friends, successfully slipped past CNN’s Fareed Zakaria that America made a mistake in targeting the Taliban, because they weren’t the terrorists, only Al Qaeda was. Which is, I suppose, why the United Nations struck up the sufficiently verbose “Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1267 (1999) concerning Al-Qaida and the Taliban and Associated Individuals and Entities”.

Ms. Marsden is a New York based political strategist and the CEO and Editor-in-Chief of GrandCentralPolitical.com. From programs that serve to combat sexually transmitted diseases and facilitate smoking prevention initiatives to the $30 million earmarked – yes, earmarked – for a wetlands restoration project meant to protect the endangered salt marsh harvest mouse, We the People have been bamboozled into financing the biggest raid on the US Treasury in the history of our nation. But before we grab the pitchforks and the torches and start marching down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House in protest, we should consider the facts surrounding the crafting of this abysmal piece of pork legislation.

The American citizenry has employed the convenient practice of blaming the President of the United States for all things enacted or ignored by government. This practice has been facilitated by the mainstream media for decades, if not since the birth of our nation. It can be argued that we have fallen into this practice primarily because it is easier and less time consuming than keeping tabs on each of the 535 voting members of Congress. But in taking the less engaged and less accurate approach to holding our elected officials accountable we perpetuate the misconception that the Executive Branch is all powerful. In fact, it is the Legislative Branch of our government that is charged – exclusively – with the tasks of finance and legislation.

Article I, Section 1 of the US Constitution reads, in part:

“All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.”

With this entry into the Charters of Freedom, the Framers entrusted the sole authority to craft, amend and enact legislation. While the Executive Branch does indeed have the luxury of the bully pulpit, in the end the only roll the President has, with regard to legislation, is to either sign the bill into law or veto the bill. A veto sends it back to the Legislative Branch to either survive through a vote to override the presidential veto or be cast off into oblivion.

Article I, Section 7 reads, in part:

“All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.”

And Article I, Section 8 states, in part:

“The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises...”

With this the Framers ensconced the sole authority over the legislation of issues of revenue to the Legislative Branch.

This clarity of constitutional literacy understood, my emphasis on the constitutional actualities should in no way be misconstrued to imply support or defense for President Obama’s efforts in this debacle. His advocacy for this unprecedented raid on the US Treasury – through the efforts of his Chicago Democrat machine enforcer, Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel – makes him culpable in its enactment, as does his signing it into law. But the true ownership of this appallingly irresponsible piece of legislation rests with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV).

In defense of my consternation for this piece of special interest legislation one need only look honestly at what is included in the bill. Here is a partial yet disturbing list of what can only be seen as special interest projects offered up in HR1:

▪ $650 million for digital TV coupons

▪ $50 million in funding for the National Endowment of the Arts

▪ $200 million for the National Mall, including repairs of grass destroyed during the inauguration festivities

▪ $400 million for "National Treasures"
▪ $99,600 for doorbells in Laurel, MS

▪ $500,000 for a dog park in Chula Vista, CA
▪ $3,450,000 to "rehabilitate" sidewalks in Alexandria, VA

▪ $600 million to buy hybrid vehicles for federal employees

▪ $150 million for Smithsonian museum facilities

▪ $75 million for "smoking cessation activities"

▪ $200 million for public computer centers at community colleges

▪ $6 billion to turn federal buildings into "green" buildings

▪ $850 million for Amtrak

▪ $100 million for reducing the hazard of lead-based paint

▪ $110 million to the Farm Service Agency to upgrade computer systems

And my favorite – and, evidently, Nancy Pelosi’s as well – $30 million for a wetlands restoration project in the San Francisco Bay Area to protect, among other things, the endangered salt marsh harvest mouse. Not coincidentally, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has championed preserving the mouse's habitat in the past.

The larger point I am trying to make – aside from the fact that this piece of legislation is as much a stimulus bill as my electric bill – is that because of our collective habit of taking the less engaged avenue in governmental oversight, in attributing blame for this act of pure politics over good government, we will allow the mainstream media and political operatives to place the onus of either congratulations or condemnation onto President Obama. While the president does deserve a portion of the condemnation that will surly rise once our citizenry wakes-up from their “hope & change stupor” only to realize they have been manipulated into believing that installing doorbells in Mississippi and protecting the salt marsh field mouse will somehow save the economy, the true ownership of this massive fraud rests with Congress. This is the Pelosi-Reid Special Interest Appropriations Bill, not an economic stimulus package.

If we are ever to affect an ideological revolution in this country, where politics is banished from the halls of Congress and good government trumps politics, we must first and foremost abandon the practice of superficial oversight of our elected officials. In truth, We the People have abdicated this constitutionally mandated oversight in our political apathy. This abdication is antithetical to the intentions of our Founders and Framers for they envisioned a citizenry that understood that in our ownership of the US Constitution and the Charters of Freedom – and it is we who own these brilliant documents, not the government – we literally gave birth to the government, our covenant (The Charters of Freedom) limiting the power of government, not empowering it above the oversight of the citizenry.

If we are to take back control of our runaway government – both in our state houses and in Washington DC – we must abdicate our apathy, not our responsibility. We need to do this for future generations otherwise the promise of that shining city on the hill and the light of liberty will become the things of history books...just like the greatness of the Roman Empire.

Frank Salvato is the Executive Director and Director of Terrorism Research for BasicsProject.org a non-profit, non-partisan, 501(c)(3) research and education initiative. Here is that speech:

London, Feb. 12, 2009

Ladies and gentlemen, thank you very much.

Thank you for inviting me. Thank you Lord Pearson and Lady Cox for showing Fitna, and for your gracious invitation. While others look away, you, seem to understand the true tradition of your country, and a flag that still stands for freedom.

This is no ordinary place. This is not just one of England’s tourist attractions. This is a sacred place. This is the mother of all Parliaments, and I am deeply humbled to speak before you.

The Houses of Parliament is where Winston Churchill stood firm, and warned – all throughout the 1930’s – for the dangers looming. Most of the time he stood alone.

In 1982 President Reagan came to the House of Commons, where he did a speech very few people liked. Reagan called upon the West to reject communism and defend freedom. He introduced a phrase: ‘evil empire’. Reagan’s speech stands out as a clarion call to preserve our liberties. I quote: If history teaches anything, it teaches self-delusion in the face of unpleasant facts is folly.

What Reagan meant is that you cannot run away from history, you cannot escape the dangers of ideologies that are out to destroy you. Denial is no option.

Communism was indeed left on the ash heap of history, just as Reagan predicted in his speech in the House of Commons. He lived to see the Berlin Wall coming down, just as Churchill witnessed the implosion of national-socialism.

Today, I come before you to warn of another great threat. It is called Islam. It poses as a religion, but its goals are very worldly: world domination, holy war, sharia law, the end of the separation of church and state, the end of democracy. It is not a religion, it is a political ideology. It demands your respect, but has no respect for you.

There might be moderate Muslims, but there is no moderate Islam.Islam will never change, because it is build on two rocks that are forever, two fundamental beliefs that will never change, and will never go away. First, there is Quran, Allah’s personal word, uncreated, forever, with orders that need to be fulfilled regardless of place or time. And second, there is al-insal al-kamil, the perfect man, Muhammad the role model, whose deeds are to be imitated by all Muslims. And since Muhammad was a warlord and a conqueror we know what to expect.

Islam means submission, so there cannot be any mistake about it’s goal. That’s a given. The question is whether the British people, with its glorious past, is longing for that submission.

We see Islam taking off in the West at an incredible speed. The United Kingdom has seen a rapid growth of the number of Muslims. Over the last ten years, the Muslim population has grown ten times as fast as the rest of society. This has put an enormous pressure on society. Thanks to British politicians who have forgotten about Winston Churchill, the English now have taken the path of least resistance. They give up. They give in.

Thank you very much for letting me into the country. I received a letter from the Secretary of State for the Home Department, kindly disinviting me. I would threaten community relations, and therefore public security in the UK, the letter stated.

For a moment I feared that I would be refused entrance. But I was confident the British government would never sacrifice free speech because of fear of Islam. Britannia rules the waves, and Islam will never rule Britain, so I was confident the Border Agency would let me through. And after all, you have invited stranger creatures than me. Two years ago the House of Commons welcomed Mahmoud Suliman Ahmed Abu Rideh, linked to Al Qaeda. He was invited to Westminster by Lord Ahmed, who met him at Regent’s Park mosque three weeks before. Mr. Rideh, suspected of being a money man for terror groups, was given a SECURITY sticker for his Parliamentary visit.

Well, if you let in this man, than an elected politician from a fellow EU country surely is welcome here too. By letting me speak today you show that Mr Churchill’s spirit is still very much alive. And you prove that the European Union truly is working; the free movement of persons is still one of the pillars of the European project.

But there is still much work to be done. Britain seems to have become a country ruled by fear. A country where civil servants cancel Christmas celebrations to please Muslims. A country where Sharia Courts are part of the legal system. A country where Islamic organizations asked to stop the commemoration of the Holocaust. A country where a primary school cancels a Christmas nativity play because it interfered with an Islamic festival. A country where a school removes the words Christmas and Easter from their calendar so as not to offend Muslims. A country where a teacher punishes two students for refusing to pray to Allah as part of their religious education class. A country where elected members of a town council are told not to eat during daylight hours in town hall meetings during the Ramadan. A country that excels in its hatred of Israel, still the only democracy in the Middle-East. A country whose capitol is becoming ‘Londonistan’.

I would not qualify myself as a free man. Four and a half years ago I lost my freedom. I am under guard permanently, courtesy to those who prefer violence to debate. But for the leftist fan club of islam, that is not enough. They started a legal procedure against me. Three weeks ago the Amsterdam Court of Appeal ordered my criminal prosecution for making ‘Fitna’ and for my views on Islam. I committed what George Orwell called a ‘thought crime’.

You might have seen my name on Fitna’s credit role, but I am not really responsible for that movie. It was made for me. It was actually produced by Muslim extremists, the Quran and Islam itself. If Fitna is considered ‘hate speech’, then how would the Court qualify the Quran, with all it’s calls for violence, and hatred against women and Jews?

Mr. Churchill himself compared the Quran to Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf. Well, I did exactly the same, and that is what they are prosecuting me for.

I wonder if the UK ever put Mr. Churchill on trial.

The Court’s decision and the letter I received form the Secretary of State for the Home Department are two major victories for all those who detest freedom of speech. They are doing Islam’s dirty work. Sharia by proxy. The differences between Saudi-Arabia and Jordan on one hand and Holland and Britain are blurring. Europe is now on the fast track of becoming Eurabia. That is apparently the price we have to pay for the project of mass immigration, and the multicultural project.

Ladies and gentlemen, the dearest of our many freedoms is under attack. In Europe, freedom of speech is no longer a given. What we once considered a natural component of our existence is now something we again have to fight for. That is what is at stake. Whether or not I end up in jail is not the most pressing issue. The question is: Will free speech be put behind bars?

We have to defend freedom of speech.

For the generation of my parents the word ‘London’ is synonymous with hope and freedom. When my country was occupied by the national-socialists the BBC offered a daily glimpse of hope, in the darkness of Nazi tyranny. Millions of my country men listened to it, illegally. The words ‘This Is London’ were a symbol for a better world coming soon. If only the British and Canadian and American soldiers were here.

What will be transmitted forty years from now? Will it still be ‘This Is London’? Or will it be ‘this is Londonistan’? Will it bring us hope, or will it signal the values of Mecca and Medina? Will Britain offer submission or perseverance? Freedom or slavery?

The choice is ours.

Ladies and gentlemen,

We will never apologize for being free. We will never give in. We will never surrender.

Freedom must prevail, and freedom will prevail.

Thank you very much.

Geert Wilders MP
Chairman, Party for Freedom (PVV)
The Netherlands

UNRWA - Lords of Misery

The UN, established UNRWA in 1948 for a one year mandate to support Arab refugees fleeing before the invading Arab armies into Gaza. 61 years later, they are still there. Vallely writes:

President Obama has had, by general consent, a torrid First Fortnight. To put it another way, it has taken precisely two weeks for the illusion that brought him to power to be exposed for the nonsense that it so obviously was. The transformational candidate who was going to sweep away pork-barrel politics, lobbyists and corruption has been up to his neck in sleaze, as eviscerated here by Charles Krauthammer. Despite the fact that he came to power promising to ‘ban all earmarks’, his ‘stimulus’ bill represents billions of dollars of special-interest tax breaks, giveaways and protections -- which have nothing to do with kick-starting the economy and everything to do with favouring pet Democrat causes.

He has been appointing one tax dodger, lobbyist and wheeler-dealer after another. After appointing one official,Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who had unaccountably forgotten to pay his taxes, he then watched his designated Health Secretary Tom Daschle fall on his sword because he too had taken a tax holiday. Daschle was furthermore a prominent actor in the world of lobbying and influence-peddling. Leon Panetta, Obama’s nominee for Director of the CIA has also, according to the Wall Street Journal, consulted for prominent companies and sat on the board of a public affairs firm that lobbies Congress. The Weekly Standard reports that Secretary of Labour nominee Hilda Solis was not only involved with a private organization lobbying her fellow legislators on a bill that she helped sponsor, but she apparently kept her involvement secret and failed to reveal a clear conflict of interest.

In foreign policy, Obama has started by trashing his own country through grossly misrepresenting its history and grovelling to America’s enemies such as Iran, which has flicked him aside with undiluted contempt. He has gratuitously upset America’s ally India by suggesting that America should muscle in and resolve the Kashmir question.

His right hand doesn’t seem to know what his left hand is doing. He reportedly asked retired Marine General Anthony Zinni to be US ambassador to Iraq, but then abruptly withdrew the appointment without explanation after it had been confirmed by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. And the precise role he is offering Dennis Ross – special envoy to Iran? Special adviser to Hillary? Special adviser to other special advisers? – remains mired in confusion.

I have argued before however that, given Obama’s radical roots in the neo-Marxist, nihilist politics of Saul Alinsky, it is the undermining of America’s fundamental values that is likely to be this President’s most strategically important goal. I have also suggested that, since this agenda is promoted through stealth politics which gull the credulous middle-classes while destroying the ground upon which they are standing, his second-tier appointments should be closely scrutinised.

And here’s a humdinger. Obama has picked a man called David Ogden to be deputy Attorney-General. Ogden has made his legal career from representing pornographers, trying to defeat child protection legislation and undermining family values. As FoxNews reported this week, he once represented a group of library directors arguing against the Children's Internet Protection Act, which ordered libraries and schools receiving funding for the Internet to restrict access to obscene sites. And on behalf of several media groups, he successfully argued against a child pornography law that required publishers to verify and document the age of their models, which would have ensured these models were at least 18.

The Family Research Council has more examples of his contribution to upholding American and western values. In one such case, he expressed the view that abortion was less damaging to a woman than having children:
In sum, it is grossly misleading to tell a woman that abortion imposes possible detrimental psychological effects when the risks are negligible in most cases, when the evidence shows that she is more likely to experience feelings of relief and happiness, and when child-birth and child-rearing or adoption may pose concomitant (if not greater) risks or adverse psychological effects ....
In another, co-authored brief, he argued that it was an unconstitutional burden on 14-year old girls seeking an abortion for their parents to be notified -- because there was no difference between adults and mid-teens in their ability to grasp all the implications of such a decision:
There is no question that the right to secure an abortion is fundamental. By any objective standard, therefore, the decision to abort is one that a reasonable person, including a reasonable adolescent, could make. [E]mpirical studies have found few differences between minors aged 14-18 and adults in their understanding of information and their ability to think of options and consequences when asked to consider treatment-related decisions. These unvarying and highly significant findings indicate that with respect to the capacity to understand and reason logically, there is no qualitative or quantitative difference between minors in mid-adolescence, i.e., about 14-15 years of age, and adults.
And how did the 44th President react to the growing public dismay over the mess he was making? He threw his toys out of the pram -- or perhaps that should read, he got into the pram. For he fled the scene of the disaster and sought the company of seven year-olds instead. As the Telegraph reported:
‘We were just tired of being in the White House,’ he told a group of excited seven-year-olds before discussing Batman and reading them a book.
Tired of being President – after two weeks!

Tax cheats, pork-barrel politics, ancillary child abuse, incompetence, chaos, treachery and infantilism. America – what have you done?!

Soft on Terror!

Voters remorse on the Cavuto show. Trillion? Desensitizing America to what is really taking place.

Have you ever wondered how big a million dollars is? Or a billion, how about a trillion dollars? In our current state of affairs, these numbers are tossed around like it is pocket change. In fact the leaders of our government use these terms so much, we as American citizens are being desensitized. We hear it so much, it no longer sounds so huge, yet, you are being taken to the cleaners folks.

Folks like Barney Frank and Chris Dodd should be in prison along with so many others on watch during this fiasco. But that is a discussion for another day. Right now, I just want to give you some perspective on these amounts.

A Billion Dollars, how much is that really? Well, it is big fat 1 with 9 zeros behind it. If you were born this morning with a billion dollar trust fund that earned zero interest for your life of 75 years and spent it all before you died, you would have to spend over $35,000 per day on average. That's right, $35,000 per day! What would you do with it all? What would you buy first?

An "average" person, with a modest education and a career earning on average of $150,000 per year, for 30 years, you would make $4.5 millions dollars in total before taxes. I used the word average because there is no longer any semblance of relativity left in our discourse in Washington, but would you not agree with me that that is a handsome life? Now compare that level of living with a billion dollars. Wonder what Bill Gates thinks of all of his billions?

Another perspective on this desensitization is if we as a nation, divided the $1 trillion dollars they speak about now, equally to our population of approximately 300,000,000 people (excluding the 50,000,000) illegals) we would each get a fat check for over $3,000. In my home, that's $12,000. Hmmm, what would I do with that sum? Well it would catch me right up with my bills, how about you?

More sanely, if we distributed it to the actual tax payers, how much would your household get? By one estimate I found, there are approximately 138,000,000 actual taxpayers in the USA today. That would be a check for about $7,500 per tax payer on average, again in my house, that would mean $15,000.

So while you read about CEO's getting millions from the TARP funds, try not to vomit. Obama wants to set a limit on their pay and/or bonuses at $500,000 per year. Sick yet? When you correctly see the perspective in real day light, you should just want to commit Hari Kari, especially as you hear about friends and neighbors losing 650,000 jobs in the last two weeks alone. Feel safer? Our jails are just not big enough for these crooks of all stripes and our new President is so incredibly naive.

Wake Up America!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://aukmuntr.blogspot.com/2009/02/billion-trillion-desensitizng-america.html' title='Billion?
